Bill C-81: The Accessible Canada Act:
If passed, Bill C-81 would benefit all Canadians, especially Canadians with disabilities, by helping create a barrier-free Canada. This would be achieved through the proactive identification, removal, and prevention of barriers to accessibility wherever Canadians interact with area under federal jurisdiction. The new Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) application forms are now shorter and use plainer language to remove barriers that prevent people with disabilities from getting the support they need.
AISH Applications can now be submitted online
Bill 5: an Act to Strengthen Financial Security for Persons with Disabilities Allows families, guardians and AISH recipients to set up trusts to provide for persons with disabilities without negatively affecting a person’s eligibility for the AISH program. Click here for more info |
